Obituary

The Lord has taken Agnes M. LeMere on June 28, 2017 at the age of 86 from her affliction with dementia. Born July 11, 1930, Agnes was the youngest of six born to the late Ben and Ida (Agamaite) Doyen. She met the love of her life William G. LeMere, after he returned from WWII where he served for the U.S. Army. They wed October 26, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church, the same place she attended grade school. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage with a large family party. The late William and Agnes were lifelong residents of Howard and faithful members of St. John the Baptist Parish.

A mother of eight; her family was her pride and joy. Agnes never sat still; she enjoyed sewing, canning, and being out by her pool. Agnes enjoyed traveling with her family to various destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Texas and the Carolina's. She took pleasure in day trips to Door County, casinos, craft fairs, and road trips to Minneapolis to visit family.

With a passion for snowmobiling, Agnes and Bill, among other family members, founded the Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club in Howard. Her dream trip was to snowmobile Yellowstone National park, which she did so amongst family and friends.

As a teen she took pride in being a candy striper; then moved on to working for the Bergner's at Sportsmen's Supper Club. She treasured the friends she made working there. After retirement she could be found walking around the block near her home or to the nearby library to get a new book. She never missed a night praying with her rosary.

Agnes was a devoted Elvis Presley fan; she enjoyed listening to his music, watching his movies, and collecting every Elvis thing ever made.

The camaraderie at "The Farm" will be missed by all, whether it was conversing around the kitchen table or sitting on lawn chairs in the driveway, there were always stories to be told and flies to be swatted.

She is survived by seven children and their spouses: Sandra Sommers, Howard; Daniel LeMere, Howard; Patricia Strickler, Sobieski; Sharon(Richard) Wiggin, Rosemount, MN; Ann LeMere, Pulaski; Jeff LeMere, Howard; Mark (Heidi)LeMere, Suamico; daughter-in-law Mary LeMere, Crivitz; and daughter-in-law Valerie LeMere, Howard. 16 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Margret Leidel, Bonduel; Lucille (William) Sobiesezyk, Freedom; brother-in-law James (Lois) LeMere, Brookside; plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son, Ronald LeMere; grandson Justin LeMere; 2 brothers Victor Doyen and James Doyen; 3 sisters Elizabeth Doyen, Theresa Lutzow, and Grace Kranz.
