Alice Gaywont, 99, Abrams, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2017 after four years of care at Woodland Village in Gillett, WI. She was born in Eaton, WI on Nov. 19, 1917 to the late Henry and Veronica (Piszczek) Conrad. Alice married John (Gewont) Gaywont on Dec. 30, 1937 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena. In the early '50's, Jack and Alice moved the family AND THE HOUSE to a farm in Abrams, taking an active part in the local community and church. A hard worker, Alice worked as a waitress at Knapps, the Candleglow, and occasionally at Pine Acres in Abrams after taking up golf in her 60's. She also worked as the school cook at Abrams Elementary School sharing her special recipes with the staff and students for many years. Alice also loved to knit and crochet, completing and then giving away over 150 afghans as well as crocheted angels, doilies, centerpieces, tablecloths, and even a bedspread or two.

Survivors include two sons, John (Beth) and Conrad (Donna) Gaywont; grandchildren, Theresa, Brenda, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Melissa and Shawn; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by Jack, (her spouse of 47 years); her son, Kevin; all of her brothers and sisters which included: Marilyn (Steve Kokai), Merle, Melba, Harold, Richard, Elaine (Joe Kopke), Lorainne (Norman Behnke), Eunice (Elery Tachick), Cletus, and Clayton.

Family and friends may call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 5246 Saint Patricks Rd., Stiles, WI on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10 until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Joel Sember officiating.
