Obituary

Allen Ray Mitchell, 82, passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 11, 2021. He was born in Shawano to the late Raymond and Floriene Mitchell on August 6 th , 1939. After graduating from Bonduel High School, Al enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. On October 8 th , 1980, Al married the love of his life, Bonnie Coopman.

Al worked at Proctor & Gamble for 37 years until he retired in 1995. While working at P&G, Al owned and operated several successful businesses. He was an avid baseball player, fan, and coach, took pride in his gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially during their "team meetings". Al and Bonnie could be found traveling to various casinos in the state and throughout the country. You could always find Al in a friendly game of craps, spending time with Bonnie, or enjoying drinks with friends and family.

Al is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bonnie; children, Jeff Mitchell, Carrie Mitchell, Tiffany (Chris) Mitchell Detvan, Linda Barke, Brenda Vieau, Jesse (Brooke) Mitchell, and Luke (Jackie) Mitchell; grandchildren, Kassidy, Mady, Lawson, Emmy, Torin, Knox, Beckett, Creed, David, Austin, Danny, Michael, Ryan, and Marissa; brother, Jim (Nancy) Mitchell; sisters, Rhonda (Roland) Fischer and Diane Banker; special friends, Alicia LaCrosse, Steve Goetz, Chick and Bert Roberts, Dan and Nancy Casey; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Don and Lois Coopman; and brother, Roger Mitchell.

Family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Unity Hospice.

A visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2736 Glendale Ave, on Thursday, December 16, from 3 pm to 5 pm. A service with military honors will follow, officiated by Pastor Jen Fite. Al will be laid to rest at Ft. Howard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Al's name at https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/ . Al's contagious laugh and sassy spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
