Amy Joanne
Ruf
Aug 8, 1970 — Apr 10, 2021
Amy Joanne (Charlock) Ruf passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2021 at the age of 50. Amy was born on August 8, 1970 to Joanne Van Duyn Gott and Robert Bruce Charlock. Amy was a beautiful shy child who grew into a beautiful woman who loved with all her heart. Amy was a graduate of Southport High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon graduation she worked in Indiana at Merchants Bank and in 1989 she moved to California to be closer to her sister Trish. Amy made a life for herself in California and made many friends. She was active in Alcoholics Anonymous where she met many lifelong friends. In 2000, Amy moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin where she met Mike Ruf, they had two children together. Amy was so proud of her exceptionally smart and witty children Lily and Mickey Ruf. She loved them with every fiber of her being and considered them her greatest accomplishment. To know Amy is to love her. She was quick with a smile and loved to laugh and joke around. Her family will miss the videos she messaged to us to let us know she was thinking of us. Her presence will be deeply missed at family dinners, holidays and get togethers, especially as part of the "LOUD" sisters club.
Amy is survived by daughter Lily Elizabeth Ruf, son Mickey Egon Ruf, Parents Joanne Van Duyn Gott and Robert Bruce Charlock, sister Trish Charlock Latimer (Gregory), Sarah Megan Gott Helton (Brian), Elizabeth Ann Gott Lisby (Ted), her aunt Betty Van Duyn Whaley and uncle Steve Whaley, Aunts Susan Neihaus (Rich) Nancy Rowland, her nieces Amber Kaye Bemis O'Brien (Mike), Brooke Nicole Bemis, nephew MacKenzie "MacK"Cayo, cousins, John Banholzer, Barbie Russell (Bryon) and many second cousins and great aunts and uncles who will miss her dearly.
Amy is proceeded in death by her grandmothers (Mema's) Mary Jane (White) Van Duyn and Norma Jean (Wilkes) Charlock- Ransdell.
We are comforted that Amy will be at peace with the Lord. Amy's beautiful smile that could light up a room and make you smile will be immensely missed. Be in peace Amy, knowing you are firmly placed forever in our hearts and minds.
