Howard

Obituary

Bruce Lemirande, 80, of Howard, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, with his loving family by his side after a short battle with brain cancer.

Bruce was the proud owner of the Target Gas Station, located on the corner of Dousman Street and Chestnut Street, from 1966 to 1968. He then worked at the C.A. Lawton Company as a journeyman machinist from May 1968 until his retirement in June 2007.

On October 6, 1973, Bruce married the love of his life, Mary. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised two daughters. Bruce especially cherished his time with his three grandsons. He loved teaching them how to swim and enjoyed sharing many memorable adventures with his family, including rides on his Harley Davidson, fishing, camping, and hunting.

Bruce's family will remember him for the joy he brought to those around him. At 5:00 p.m. each day, he enjoyed gathering with his loved ones and having a happy hour before dinner.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bellin Hospital, Unity Hospice, and the many others who showed Bruce kindness and compassion throughout this difficult time. Their care and support are deeply appreciated.

Bruce is survived by his wife Mary Lemirande; daughters, Sara (Paul Blashka) Lamirande of Reedsville, WI, Ann (Pat) Laurent of Howard WI; grandchildren, Patrick (Jozalynn Frank) Laurent, Ian (Hannah Racine) Laurent, Sam Blashka.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Laverne Lemirande; parents-in-law, Victor and Audrey Krause.

Per Bruce’s wishes private family services were held.
