Obituary

Carlene Sue Felmer, 60, Village of Howard, passed away at home after a courageous battle with brain cancer on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born in Marinette on June 4, 1955 to John and Eloise (Bellevue) Kulhman. Carlene graduated from Marinette High School in 1973. She married James Felmer in 1975 and they were lifelong residents of Duck Creek where they raised a family. Carlene had a very impressive archery career and then raised and showed Shih-Tzu dogs in the United States and Canada. She opened her dog grooming business in Howard. As a business owner, Carlene became involved in area politics and became known as the First Lady of Howard serving as the Howard Village President. She was also a very active member of the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, spending time at the cabin on Legend Lake with her grandchildren and volunteering with the Optimists. Survivors include her husband, James; her children, Rebecca (Mark) Agamaite, Pulaski, and their children, Holly, Jena, Bethany and Christian; Sarah (Jeremy) Benser and their children, Timothy and Chase, Lena; Joshua (Andrea) Felmer and their daughter Sabrina, Suamico; her mother, Eloise; brother, Randolph Kulhman. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Carlene was preceded in death by her father, John; in-laws, Julius and Beatrice Felmer; her dear dog, Lizzy. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2736 Glendale Ave., from 10 until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Ralph Hankermeyer officiating.
