Carrie D. Koenigs, 61, peacefully passed away at home from Alzheimers on September 28, 2022 with her partner and family by her side. Carrie was born on June 29, 1961, in Fond du Lac to LeRoy and Lucy Koenigs.
Carrie graduated from Goodrich High School in 1979. She attended the University of Wisconsin- Fond du Lac for 2 years. Carrie was employed at FedEx for 26 years. She began as a courier and worked her way up to management.
Carrie loved biking, golfing, softball, basketball, reading, camping, dancing, singing, going to concerts and sitting by a bonfire while drinking beer. She was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. Carrie loved to be in the sun.
Carrie was always kind and thoughtful! You could always count on her to listen and offer help in any way! Carrie was very loved by many!
Carrie is survived by her partner Robin of 18 ½ years; mother, Lucy Brunette; son, Ty Koenigs, Brooke (Berghuis) and grandson Rowan, sisters; Dina Fox (George), Sandy Nelson (Mike); brother, Scott Koenigs (Sheila); and nieces and nephews, Matt, Dave (Cecelia), Josh, Kyle, (Autumn), great niece; Lyla and Zak.
Extended family; Roger, Diana, Travis (Jessica), Jackson, Violet, Claire, Lance, (Guadalupe) and Caleb.
Carrie loved our fur- babies, Harley and Schwinn.
Carrie is preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Koenigs and her step father, Terry Brunette.
A special thank you to all of Carrie's caregivers; Joanie, Mary Jo, Madonna, Fran, Candace, Nancy, Jan and Tricia. Also, thank you to our family, friends and neighbors who have helped throughout the years.
Thank you to the team from PROMEDICA/ Heartland Hospice for their kind and gentle care. Traci went above and beyond to make sure Carrie made a peaceful journey.
Thank you to Pfotenhauer Funeral Home for their compassion during a difficult time.
The family will honor Carrie with a private Celebration of Life.
