Charles "Chuck"
Wood
Dec 11, 1950 — Oct 19, 2026
Charles “Chuck” Wood, 75, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 11, 1950, to the late Casimer and Cecelia Wood.
Chuck’s strong work ethic started early, going to work at just ten years old in his family’s pickle business. He went on to build a long, versatile career in sales, holding numerous positions over the years where his natural charisma and easy conversation shone through. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975.
In 1971, Chuck married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Sandy. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children. Chuck had an immense love for his family, and he never failed to show that love. Chuck’s rhythm in life extended to his love of music—he was a drummer and was part of multiple bands. In high school they took home the winning title of Battle of the Bands.
Chuck was a lover of all animals, especially dogs, and was a self-proclaimed “dog whisperer.” A true Wisconsin sports fan, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Green Bay Packers. Chuck always enjoyed bowling, loved hitting the road camping in the RV, and cherished time spent at their cottage on Shawano Lake.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Sandy Wood of Ashwaubenon, WI; his children, Christopher Wood (Joy Breitzman) of York, SC, and Julie (Joe) Witt of Ashwaubenon, WI; his three cherished grandchildren, Joshua Witt, Elizabeth Witt, and Madelyn Witt; his brother, Wayne (Gina) Wood; his sister-in-law, Audrey Wood; along with numerous extended family members, beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimer and Cecelia Wood, as well as his siblings, Donna Wood, Roger Wood, and Lois McGivern.
Our family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Unity Hospice for all of the wonderful care given to Chuck, especially Heather, Megan, Scott and Tina.
His family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate his life and honor the memories they share. Further details will be announced once funeral arrangements have been made.
