Connie Lou Horen, 79, passed away on May 12, 2025, with family by her side. She was born on August 18, 1945, to the late Edward and Martha (Eggert) Braun. Connie graduated from Shawano High School, Class of 1963 and then attended UW-Steven's Point with her sister for a year before entering the workforce. It was while working at WLUK that she met her husband, Jerry Horen. Connie was a homemaker raising their two sons and granddaughter, Louette, before finishing her career working as an administrative assistant for the Oneida Police Department.

Connie was a lifetime member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she and Jerry were the first couple to be married there on March 9, 1973. She was also a longtime member of the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club, serving on the board for many years and served as President of the Bay Port Booster Club. Connie loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.

Connie is survived by her sons, Justin (Bonnie) Horen and Barry (Sarah) Horen; grandchildren, Waylon, Daphne, Leland, Louette (Logan), Natalie, Anastaysia, Lyrik, Avaya, and Vaydin; and sister, Beverly (Chuck) Wruck and her children, Rocky and Nikki.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome "Jerry" Horen and parents, Edward and Martha Braun.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 19 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2736 Glendale Ave, with a service to follow.

The family would like to thank Matt and Irene for always sharing a drink (and a cig) and good conversation with Connie. Your friendship has been very meaningful to her and our family over the years.
