Obituary

Darlene M. (Runge) Bergmann, 85, Howard, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a courageous and extended battle with several cancers on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. She was reunited with her loving husband of 49 years who passed away on September 9th, 2001.

Darlene was born Aug 19th, 1932, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Holl) Runge in Hintz, Wisconsin. Darlene came into this world as a twin, born in the back of her grandfather's General Store in Hintz, WI.

On December 15th, 1951 Darlene married Kenneth J. Bergmann at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz. Darlene spent her years at home raising her four children. Darlene was proud to be a Charter Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Howard. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, gardening, baking, spending time at the family cottage on Boundary Lake, watching Green Bay Packer Football and had a true love for Christmas. Her greatest pleasure was spending time and being a part of the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Darlene left her handprint on the hearts of her four children; Darryl Bergmann, Pulaski; Debra Anderegg, Algoma; Rebecca (Chris) Babka, New Franken and Brian (Julie) Bergmann, Gillett.

She deeply loved her grandchildren: Matthew Babka (Brianna Burley), Jacob Bergmann and Jennifer Anderegg.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Darlene is survived by her brother Tom (Pam) Runge; sister Mary (Bill) Blumreich; sisters- in-law, Leona Bergmann, Donna Druckrey; several nieces and nephews; childhood friend Audrey Ratz who called mom weekly and her special "Woodside Friends", Ruth, Marilyn and Elaine.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her parents Clarence and Dorothy Runge; her father and mother-in-law Nicholas and Pearl Bergmann; twin sister Betty Runge; brothers Edward (Mike) Runge and Curtis Runge; son-in-law Bradley Anderegg; brothers- in-law John Bergmann and James Druckrey.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Darlene's name to a meaningful cancer charity such as; Ribbon of Hope (De Pere, WI) as she was an avid supporter for Breast Cancer or The Gillett Area Historical Society & Museum.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Comfort Keepers – Brandi, Natalie, Judith, Jodi and Yacouba for your personal and loving care that was given to our Mother. She truly enjoyed the time you spent with her listening to her stories and sharing some of your own.

Also thank you to all of those who took care of Darlene over the years, Dr. Edward Bongiorno and staff, Woodside Rehabilitation and Assisted Living and Green Bay Oncology.
