David James Schott, 71, passed away on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. David was born on April 15th, 1952, in Green Bay to the late Richard and Bernadine (Horkman) Schott. David graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 1970. On July 29th, 1972, he married JoAnn Beyer at St. Kilian Catholic Church in New Franken. David held various jobs, his favorite being Basten Farm Supplies working for Barry Basten. David also spent 20 years at Packerland Packing. In his free time, David enjoyed traveling. After retirement, he spent most of his time with his grandchildren.
David will be sadly missed by JoAnn and their three children, Shelly (Mark) Bohm, Becky (George) Loritz and Jeff (Shelly) Schott. Grandchildren, Lauren (Cody), Matthew, Madisyn, Blake, Daniel, and Ava. David is survived by all of his siblings but holds a special place in his heart for his sisters, Marilyn LaPlant and Mary Lou Zeutzius, who were always by his side until the end. David requested a special mention of Robert and Donna Schott, who were like second parents. Special aunt and casino road buddy, Rosalie Kinjerski. Cousin and best friend, Steve Vanden Plas. Lifelong friends, Donnie Schauer and Clyde Brunner. David is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Florence Schott and Leona Horkman. His parents, Richard and Bernadine Schott. Uncle Robert Schott and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be at St. Kilian Catholic Church on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Burial in church cemetery to follow. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com.
David's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents at Green Bay Health Services and the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice. Their care and concern will always be remembered. Family would like also like to thank Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, East Town, for their assistance during this time.
