Cumps
Jun 11, 1931 — Feb 8, 2025
Delores Cumps passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at The Cottages Nursing Home in Marinette at the age of 93. The daughter of the late John and Viola (Doering) Huben. She was born on June 11, 1931, in Duck Creek.
On November 19, 1947, she married Raymond Cumps, best known as "Pee-Wee", at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard, where she was a lifetime member.
Delores loved to decorate her yard, watch Packer games, and bake cookies and candies; she was called The Cookie Lady. She also made sequin calendars each year and loved doing her scrapbooks. We'll never forget how much she loved fishing up north. She worked six years at the Holiday Inn and retired from St. Mary's Hospital after 25 years. Plus, farming and hauling milk with her husband of nearly 50 years.
Delores is survived by a daughter Diane Delvoye of Townsend; a son-in-law Chris Nicklas of Athelstane; five grandchildren, Judy (Mark) Delvoye, Dale (Michelle) Delvoye, Dawn (Butch) Delvoye, Chuck Nicklas, Kevin (Lauri) Nicklas; three great grandchildren, Dustin (Abby) Delvoye, Alex (Cole) Delvoye, Landon Nicklas; one great great grandchild, Greyson Dumas-Delvoye; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Darlene, Shirley, and Diane Huben. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Ray; daughter, Carol Nicklas; parents, John and Viola Huben; father and mother-in-law, Hilda and Earl Cumps; four brothers, Richard, Alvin, Melvin, Larry Huben; brother and sisters-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Devroy, Laverne and Marion Duchateau.
I would like to give a special thank you to the staff at The Cottages Nursing Home for their love and support they gave my mother. Also, Lakeland Care and Hospice.
