It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Layne Bushie on April 27, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 8, 1953, in Stambaugh, Michigan, Dennis was the son of the late Anna Mae Layne and Floyd Elton Bushie. He was a graduate of West Iron County High School Class of 1972.

Dennis was a man who found peace in nature, particularly in the quiet moments spent fishing. Whether it was casting a line from a boat or standing on the shore at dawn, fishing was more than a hobby for him—it was a source of relaxation and reflection.

Throughout his life, Dennis embraced the simple joys that the world had to offer. His love for fishing, his faith in God, and his family were unwavering, and he will be remembered for his calm, steady nature and his deep appreciation for life's quiet moments.

Dennis is survived by his brother- Robbie (Jean) Bushie; sisters- Connie Sue Jagelewski and Sherri (Dick) Ross; son- Ian (Amy) Bushie; daughters- Holly (Nicholas Vardigan) Acosta and Heather (Shawn) Cruver; stepchildren- Kelly (Tony) Krause, Shawn (Pam) Hale, and Michael (Lori) Hale; as well as his grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate, Karyn (Franz) Bushie and brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Jagelewski.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Meadowbrook in Oconto Falls for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they showed Dennis in his final days. Your dedication brought comfort not only to him but to all of us who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal rescue, wildlife conservation group or that you simply take a moment to appreciate the outdoors, as he did throughout his life.
