Dennis H.
Johnson
Nov 11, 1941 — Apr 17, 2021
Dennis H. Johnson, age 79, of Howard, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, with his family at his side. He was born on November 11, 1941 to the late Johannes and Clara (King) Johnson of Denmark, WI. He married LuAnn Beaupre, of Bellevue, on February 4, 1967 at Saint Philip Church in Green Bay. A marriage they said would never last. Dennis was Lutheran and LuAnn is Catholic. Love conquered!
Dennis graduated from Denmark High School, class of 1960. He worked on the family farm until going into service for the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Following his enlistment, Dennis started employment at Wisconsin Public Service Corporation as a garage mechanic. Through continuing education and dedication, he worked his way up to retired from WPS in 2000 as a Substation and Transmission supervisor. After "retirement", Dennis began consulting and project management employment with Electrical Consultants Inc. and Energis Inc. Dennis also found time to serve two terms as Village of Howard Trustee.
Dennis adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed family camping time, family road trips, and making his famous booyah for many family gatherings. He had dressed as Santa to deliver gifts for family, friends and as a true secret Santa. Dennis also loved his practical jokes, as many of his victims would testify to. He even went as far as placing a cooled molten piece of metal in a neighborhood yard the day Skylab fell back to Earth. He would have allowed the news to be called until the voice of reason, his wife, told him to fess up.
Dennis will be loved and remembered by his wonderful wife of 54 years, LuAnn; children, Timothy (Tracy) Johnson, Mark Johnson, Denise (Wayne) Kiley, Daniel (Tracy) Johnson. Grandchildren; Ashley (Ryan), Tiffany (Dan), Tony (Chelsey), Lizzy, Devon, Libby, Sydney, Andrew, Olivia, Justin (Olivia), Mari, Kenneth, Megan, Sabrina. Great-Grandchildren; Levi, Blake, and Hallie. Ten brothers and sisters; JoAnne (Fred) Alger, Carl (Barbra) Johnson, Judy (Darrel) Hengel, Suzanne (Douglas) Piontek, Gary (Karen) Johnson, Sally (Robert) Konkle, Brian (Doris) Johnson, Neil (Karen) Johnson, Scott (special friend Kayla) Johnson, Jill Meeboer; brother-in-law John (Claire) Beaupre; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dennis was proceeded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Harold and Cecilia Beaupre, sisters-in-law, Nancy Johnson and Darlene Johnson and brother-in-law, Dan Meeboer.
