Dionisia (Daisy) Bridget (Scieszka) White, 92, passed away on September 16, 2015 after a brief illness. Daisy was born November 9, 1922 in Lonsdale, Rhode Island. She spent the majority of her life in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Daisy married George R. White on May 12, 1942 and they were married for 71 years. George was the love of her life. Daisy moved with her husband George to Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2001 to live by their daughter. Daisy loved gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and in her early years she bowled in the Ladies Classic League. She was an avid Bruins fan and even had some of the players, including Bobby Orr, to her house for dinner. She had always wanted to go to Las Vegas and was able to go in 2011 with her daughter, grandchildren and spouses and had a great time. She loved scratch offs or as she called them rub outs. Daisy loved going to the casino. She is survived by her daughter Kathy McCourt (George) of Green Bay WI; grandson Shawn McCourt (Kris) & their children, her great grandchildren, Brayden and Chase of Mt Pleasant, WI; granddaughter Katie Lundt (Andy) & their children, her great grandchildren, Ayden and Evan of Wrightstown WI; her daughter Terry Gustavson (Stan) of Londonderry, NH; grandson Gary Gustavson (Valerie) & their children, her great grandchildren, Emily, Alissa, and Andrew of Sturbridge, MA; grandson Scott Gustavson (Amie) & their children, her great grandchildren, Cameron and Madelyn of Old Bridge, NJ; grandson Jonathan Gustavson (Darlene) & their children, her great grandchildren, Joseph and Elizabeth of Chester, NH; daughter-in-law Joyce White & her children Richie Carvalho (Tracy) & their children, Erik and Christopher of Port St. Lucie, FL; Rhonda Carvalho & her children, Chad and Derek of Fairhaven, MA; her grandson Christopher White of Mattapoisett, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helena Scieszka; her husband, George R White; her son, George R White Jr.; her brothers, Wally Scieszka (Mary); Joseph Scieszka (Annie); and Bill Scieszka (Dorothy); her sisters, Elizabeth DeMaria (William); Adella Arruda (Everett); sisters-in-law, Eva F. White and Pearl Hoffman (William); nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at St Philip Church, 312 Victoria Street, Green Bay, WI. The service will be Saturday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery adjacent to the Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, MA. The family wishes to thank all the care givers and staff at Age Well Assisted Living. A special thank you is extended to Lori, Cathy, Lynn, Debbie and Haley. A special thank you is also extended to Heartland Hospice which was so caring to our Mom in her final days. A special thank you is extended to Janna, Maria and Heather. Thanks to her former neighbors who visited her often; Sandy and Charlie Brzoznowski; Barb and Randy Lapacz; and Sister Helen. The time you spent with Mom meant so much to her.
