Obituary

Donald P. Rysewyk, 70, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

Donnie was born on December 9, 1952, to Caroline (Donald) Johnson and John (Aileen) Rysewyk in Oconto, Wisconsin. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1971.

In 1974, Donnie met Gail in Oconto. The two met through an adult baseball league when he coached Gail's team. The two married in 1977, and went on to have a daughter, Catherine, and he adopted Gail's two sons, Brent and Gregory.

He was an entrepreneur, carpenter, and worked with Miron Construction among other companies during his career. His passion for building included adding the new addition to Lambeau Field, completely rebuilding a bar in Chicago, the Lantern, his brother-in-law's house in Suamico, and the home he resided in, with his family, from the ground up. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker, a true Jack of all Trades.

His favorite pastimes included attending Packer Games, fly fishing, gambling, playing baseball, the card game sheepshead, reminiscing with family, playing with his grandchildren, and listening to the radio, mainly the oldies.

Donnie had a number of brothers: John (Jeanne), Gregory (Debbie), Tim (Dawn), and Kevin (Jamie), sisters: Roberta Skelly, Judy (Wayne) Conklin, Denise (Roger) Cunningham, Michele (Dennis) Dorshorst, Wendy (Randall) Seefeldt, and sister-in-law Cindy Rysewyk, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Not shy to a big family, he was also a grandfather to Becca Jo, Taylor (Gary) Waszcyszak, Hope Earley and great-grandfather to Faith Earley, Riley Waszcyszak, and Waylon Earley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline and Don Johnson, Aileen and John Rysewyk, his brother Bernard, sister Cheryl Bieber, son Gregory Lee Rysewyk, in-laws Howard and Caroline VanLaanen, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
