Edna J. Ullmer, 97, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was born September 7, 1926, in Maribel, to Henry and Christina (Petska) Schneider. Edna graduated from Green Bay West High School. She rode the train to school daily. She married her sweetheart, Gerald C. Ullmer, on June 19, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. Together they raised 7 children.
Edna was a modern woman and worked for 30 years at Montgomery Ward department store and other various jobs. Edna was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and held various positions over her lifetime. In her free time Edna enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling. She also enjoyed spending lake time with family and friends. One of her favorite card games was Sheepshead and she always picked on nothing, saying "I've got a partner out there". She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother and she will be missed.
Survivors include her 7 children, Barb Klaas, Russ (Sue) Ullmer, Mary (John) Gering, Carol (Jon) Peotter, Rodney (Barb) Ullmer, Donald Ullmer, Connie (Rick) Kellogg; 14 Grandchildren, Jon Klaas, Jason (Joanne) Klaas, Jeremy (Jenni) Klaas, Jeff (Kelly) Klaas, John (Melissa) Gering, Michelle Gering, Jessica Gering, Claudette (Dave) Prybilla, Callie (Erik) Maursetter, Jill (Hans) Jungck, Michael Ullmer, Kris (John) Kuehlwein, Ricky Kellogg, Alyssa Kellogg; 25 Great-Grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Gerald's family, Donald Rettmann, Charlene (Gary) Maus. Many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald C. Ullmer, on September 26, 2010; two brothers, Clarence and Alvin Schneider, sister, Viola Reindl Maresh, Son-In-Law, Raymond Klaas, great-great-granddaughter, Emberlee Rae Quinn.
Friends and family may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave, (one quarter mile east on the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave.; entrance directly across from the BP gas station) from 10 am to 12 pm Thursday, February 29th. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 pm at the church with Fr. James Lucas officiating. Pfotenhauer funeral home will be assisting the family.
