Obituary

Eileen M. (Shequin) Poehls passed away at home. She was born in Green Bay, the first of a set of twins on July 7, 1923 to the late George and Amelia (Carpiaux) Shequin. Eileen attended St. John the Evangelist Grade School and graduated from East High School Class of 1941. She attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac and the old Vocational Business School. Eileen and William Poehls were united in marriage on June 10, 1961. She was employed by Drs. Emile and George Nadeau for over five years. Eileen was then employed by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (now CSX) in the Green Bay traffic office for twenty seven years, retiring as chief clerk in 1982. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and the Commission on Aging and helped to set up the first Free Clinic for the needy. Eileen and Bill enjoyed traveling together.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Robert) Lane; granddaughter, Cathy (Layne) Semrau; grandson, David (Amanda) Lane; great grandchildren, Melanie (Drake Sanford), Kyle, Devin and Hunter Semrau and Lily and Katy Lane; twin sister, Kate (Orin) Miller; brother, James Shequin, Cebu Island in the Phillipines; niece Ellen (Ken) Zittlow; nephews Ward Miller, Steve and Keith Shequin.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Bill on Oct. 25, 2006; her two newborn daughters, one in 1947 and one in 1948; her parents, Amelia in 1988 and George in 1989.
