Obituary

Eleanor Louise (Gillis) Pamperin, 92, Howard, passed away at home from cancer, peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Eleanor was born on October 2 nd , 1930 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Violet (Lubenske) and Walter Gillis.  Eleanor graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1948.  On September 4, 1950 she married Gerald "Jerry" Pamperin at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard, WI and they celebrated their wedding reception at Pamperin Park.  They were happily married for 67 years, until Jerry's passing in April 2018 and raised eight children together.

Eleanor managed the kitchen at St. John the Baptist School for many years, and then worked at Shopko on Military Ave. for many more.  A talented seamstress, Eleanor made all of her children's clothes when they were young.  She even quilted each of her children and grandchildren a quilt made specifically for them, with love.  She sewed, crocheted, knitted, tatted and quilted many beautiful pieces that are treasured.

Eleanor had a green thumb; her flowers were beautiful and she grew the most amazing Christmas cactuses that were the envy of all who saw them.

Of all her skills and gifts, Eleanor was most proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.  She was surprised twice by two sets of twins and was a member of the Mothers of Twins club for many years.  She touched many lives in countless ways.  She was a loving, kind, generous, accepting and faith- filled woman.  She will be greatly missed.

Eleanor is survived by her eight children, Nancy (Steve) Gaura, Suamico, Carol Williquette (special friend Jon), Howard, Marge (Rick) Hujet, Suring, Ken (Colleen) Pamperin, Howard, Keith (Cindy) Pamperin, Kaukauna, Jay Pamperin, Pulaski, Amy (special friend Cory) Pamperin, Menasha, Ann Pamperin, Menasha.  Her grandchildren, Melissa Butler, Joshua (Jessie) Gaura, Jeff (Jenny) Williquette, Jesse (Charmaine) Williquette, Sam Hujet, Betsy (Josh) Arndt, Dan (Jen) Pamperin, Erin (Christopher) Murphy, Brad (Becky) Pamperin, Andy Pamperin, Leanne Pamperin, Miranda Pamperin, Ben Pamperin and Oliver Christison.  Great grandchildren, Joe, Julie, Justin, Claire, Carson, Olivia, Emma, Noah, Macy, Cullen, Addysen, Kennedy, Liam, Cecilia, Parker, Paityn, Paxton, Jackson.  Great-great grandchild Owen.   She is further survived by sister Darlene Wery and sister-in-law Debra (Mike) Hughes and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was proceeded in death by her husband Jerry, her mother, father, step-mother Beatrice Gillis, mother in-law and father-law Mae and Ray Pamperin, son-in-law Mike Williquette, brother Earl, sister Lois, several brothers-in-law and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 2597 Glendale Avenue on Thursday March 30 th 2023 from 10:00 to noon.  Mass of Christian burial at noon at the church with Father James Lucas officiating.  Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com

The family would like to thank Shannon Plos, NP, Woodside Rehabilitation Center and the phenomenal staff at Unity Hospice (special thanks to nurse Samantha) for their excellent care.  The family would also like to thank all of the neighbors who were so helpful over the years.

She was the most amazing Mother and Grandmother anyone could ask for……."ABSOLUTELY"!
