Ellen M. Woelfel, 82 years old, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on February 24, 2023 after a courageous 3 year health battle. Born March 26, 1940 to the late John and Elsie Baumgartner in Oneida. After graduating from West De Pere in 1958, she met Erwin Woelfel, the love of her life, at a dance and they married on June 13, 1959. Ellen had many jobs in addition to being a loving wife and mother of their four children.
Together Erv and Ellen enjoyed traveling, camping, Packer games, Ledgeview Riders Snowmobile Club, Ledgeview Homemakers, their trailer at Popp's Resort and 15 years of wintering in Texas. Ellen loved to cook, bake, crochet and was well loved for her booyah. She enjoyed celebrating weddings, birthdays and holidays with her family and her monthly lunches with her cousins and breakfasts with her sister and brother-in-law.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Erwin, son Andy (Therese) Woelfel, daughter Sara (Frank) Drewiske, son Scott (Mary) Woelfel and daughter-in-law Lisa Woelfel (significant other Patrick). Grandchildren Ryan (Stephanie) Woelfel, Cody Woelfel, Kelsey (Adam) Lenss, Jami La Haye (fiancè Zack), Doug (Shannon) Drewiske, Danielle (Justin) Raska, Derek (Katie) Drewiske, Mallory Woelfel (fiancè Cole), Morgan (Sam) Heim, Zach Woelfel (special friend Jacque) and Tyler Woelfel. Great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Brynlee, Charlyze, Rowen, Rylee, Carter, Emerson, Primm, Lucas, Westin, Mackenzie, Landen, and one on the way.
Ellen is further survived by her sister Lynn (Bob) Zegers, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Delores (Les) Schmidt, Arleen Woelfel, Rosie (Bob) Saharsky, Sharon (Glen) Scheidehelm, Dave (Diane) Woelfel, Kay (Bill) Vanden Elzen, Brenda (John) Scheer; godchildren Ken Schmidt, Chuck Baumgartner, Steve Brick, Nate Brick and many other nieces, nephews and lifelong friends in both Wisconsin and Texas.
She was preceded in death by her son Marty, parents, twin brother Allen "Doc", in-laws Alvin and Ann Woelfel, and brother-in-law Gerald Woelfel.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Bernard Parish, 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay, 54302. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 AM.
