Emile Gardiner, 81, Village of Howard passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Good Shepherd Rehab in Seymour.
Emile was born December 26, 1939 in Rouyn, Quebec, Canada to the late Wilfrid and Alberta (Goyette) Gardiner. He married Wendy Gorham on October 3, 1964 in LaTuque Canada and celebrated 45 years of marriage in 2009, before her passing.
Emile began his career for Facelle Co. Div of Canadian Int'l Paper as Electrical/Instrumentation Technician after graduating from DeVry Engineering. He transferred to California in 1969, to help build and start converting and paper making operations. Emile transferred in 1982 to Wisconsin with Procter & Gamble. Transferred back to California in 1991 to help start a new paper machine, then back to Wisconsin in 1993. Emile retired from Procter & Gamble in 1997 as part of the engineering group in Green Bay.
Before retirement, Emile joined the Howard Suamico Optimist Club in 1995, and held positions serving as President, Vice President, Secretary, Board of Directors, and Lt Governor. Emile's younger days were spent hunting moose with his parents. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was always positive and had a smile on his face.
Emile is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law Nancy (John) Van Sambeek and Kathy (Lance) Luedtke; grandchildren Kyle (Brittany) great granddaughter Leilani, and Megan Wagner (fiancé Sam Gunderson), Zachary and Kristen Luedtke, Mike, Rob, Matt, and Tim (Abrianna) Van Sambeek. Also survived by his fiancée Tina Seifert, son Shawn (Kimberly) Seifert and grandchildren Maisie and Teagan.
He is further survived by his half brother Georges Adams (wife Madeleine, deceased) and their children Andree, Julie, and Francois; brother-in-law Ken (Monika) Gorham and their children Jessica and Julie (son Dylan); brother-in-law Keith (Louise) Gorham and their child Ann Marie; and brother-in-law Allan (Celine) Gorham.
Emile was proceeded in death by his parents, his in-laws, wife Wendy, sister Nancy, half brother Bertrand Jordan.
