Gary "Rozy"
Rozmarynoski
Jan 5, 1954 — Apr 3, 2022
Gary "Rozy" Rozmarynoski, 68, left this world on April 3, 2022 after sharing his final days with visits and messages filled with love from his family, friends, former students, and colleagues with whom he shared his life so generously.
Gary was born on January 5, 1954 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to the late Cecilia and Edwin Rozmarynoski. He graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1972. Gary received his bachelor's degree in Special Education from Silver Lake College where he was also an outstanding athlete. He received his master's degree (Arts & Education) from Marian University.
He began his teaching career at Bay Port High School in 1977 and had a wonderful, positive influence on hundreds of students and his fellow faculty members throughout his career. Gary was an impactful Special Education teacher while also a role model and life forming coach to hundreds of young adults who loved him so much. He was an announcer for Bay Port football, basketball, and track meets. He was a track and field official for many track events throughout northeast Wisconsin including the WIAA State Track meet. Gary was also founder of the annual Bay Port golf outing and always involved with Bay Port athletics giving back to his community and making people smile.
Rozy served as a Make-A-Wish Wisconsin Volunteer and Wish Granter for 30 years,
helping to grant over 70 life-changing wishes for local children battling critical illness & health struggles. He also served in The Gourmet Wishes signature gala leadership committee, assisting with many events to help make wishes come true. This work inspired many others to be involved and experience the magic of giving hope, strength and joy to kids through the power of a Wish.
He lived the Optimist Creed and taught it by example: "To make all of your friends feel that there is something in them;" & "to wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile." He was an active life member of the Optimist Club, served on the Board of Directors, and served as the President of the Optimist Club of Howard-Suamico. He volunteered and directed projects, too many to count, most notably the Howard-Suamico Holiday Parade for 30 years. Gary was the life of the party at noon meetings and many other special events.
Gary was also active in the Suamico political scene for many years as Town Chairman. President from 1986 to 1996.
Gary is survived by and will be missed by his sons Scott Rozmarynoski (Helena, Montana); Casey Rozmarynoski (Denver, Colorado); Marcy Merner (mother of Scott & Casey); brother Charles 'Chuck' Rozmarynoski; nephew and niece, Ryan and Kaley. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilia and Edwin.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date with details to be provided accordingly. In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts, donations may be sent to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin at 200 E Washington St, Suite 2F, Appleton, WI 54911. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com .
Gary and his family would like to say a huge Thank You to the loving staff of St. Vincent Hospital, Woodside Nursing Home, the angels of DaVita Dialysis Center and Unity Hospice for all of their compassionate and loving care through his toughest times.
He was extremely overwhelmed and thankful to every one of his friends who stopped in to visit or send messages making for such a smooth, blessed transition onward.
"I love you all and appreciate you. I will see you on the other side. God bless all of you. It was great knowing you." Rozy
