Obituary

Genevieve "Genny" Margitan, 90 of Green Bay, peacefully took her last breath with family by her side on March 26, 2025.

She was born on August 4, 1934. A daughter to the late Stella (Williams) Gehrke and the late William Gehrke of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin.

She married the love of her life James G. Margitan on September 3, 1955, and together they were lifelong companions. They were blessed with 4 children. James B, Daniel, Marsha, and Larry. They moved around for many years due to the need of finding solid work before settling down in Green Bay in 1972 where they purchased their first home and lived out their lifelong journey together. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Preparing Sunday meals for the whole family was always a priority. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and even the great grandchildren in sporting and concert events. Spending time with her family was her passion. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, feeding the birds, taking rides and getting outside. Traveling up north to visit family and taking rides around the lake. Sundays were spent watching football with the family and keeping the scores of all the games.

She is survived by 3 of her children, James B (Heather) Margitan, Marsha (Scott) Stueber, and Larry Margitan (Marya). Gerri McCoy - fiancé to Dan. Her sister Patricia (Merv) Archdale. Her 11 grandchildren, James J. (Cassandra) Margitan, Aimee (Nick) Dorsey. Dana (Matt) Gehrke, Andrew (Francesca) Stueber, Kristine (Hunter) Tilkens, Dalton Margitan (Sara), Makayla Margitan (Braun). Zach (Veronica) Kruse, Nicole (Fernando) Chavarria. Kaylee Greenwood, and Logan Greenwood. Her 21 Great grandchildren Leslie, Mackenzie, Aubrie, Kaiden, Peyton, Ethan, Jace, Ryker, Kinlee, Arie, Bayne, Abigail, Adalyn, Isabella, Lucille, Fernando, Hailey, Aspen, Jakob, Autumn and Morgan.

She is preceded in death by her husband James G. Margitan, son Daniel Margitan along with her siblings Mary, Richard, Fritz, Imogene, and her parents and grandparents.
