Gerald Salzer, 77, passed away with family by his side on May 21, 2025. He was born in Wausau on July 23, 1947, to the late Joseph and Cecilia (Lupa) Salzer. On August 5, 1967, Gerald married Marilynne Midlikowski and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Gerald worked in the paper industry for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with his sisters and good friends, Jim and Charmaine Dobrinska. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, cousin, Phil Lupa, and best friend, Mike Schmidt.

He is survived by his two sons, Chris (Wendy) and Kelly (Tonia); grandchildren, Jennifer Alderton, Anthony Carter, Olivia Salzer, Antonia Salzer, and Victoria Salzer; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Sophia, Marcella, Casey, Anaka, and Delilah; and sisters, Marie Salzer and Sandra James.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Marilynne; parents; sister, Laura Rogman; and brother, Dwayne Salzer.

There are no services at this time. Gerald will be interred at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau.
