Greg E.
Setnik
Apr 2, 1961 — Mar 28, 2024
Greg Everett Setnik, 62, of Howard, WI passed away peacefully with family at his bedside on March 28, 2024 leaving in deep sorrow his wife of 43 years Toddy, Daughters Jaime (Tim) Robenhorst, and Andrea, granddaughters Allison Zingler and Lauren Robenshorst, brother Charles (Jonna) Setnik, lifelong friend Tom (Michelle) Jackett and his son Nolan Jackett. He is also survived by his father Karl (Barbara) Setnik, special aunt Gail (Tony) Kader and many cousins. Greg and Toddy started dating in high school and were married on March 31, 1981. They had their first child, Jaime, in June of 1982 and their second daughter, Andrea, in January of 1987. Greg served his country from 1980-1984 as an Electrician's Mate in the United States Navy. He was stationed in La Maddalena, Italy and Philadelphia, PA. Greg worked for many years as the GM for DirectSat until his retirement. He loved making elaborate meals for the holidays and spending his time with family, especially Sundays, enjoying hot ham & rolls and football games. He enjoyed a good poker tournament, watching videos on every subject, and 70s rock music.
One of Greg's favorite things was to go to Tom's cabin and spend time with him, his son Nolan, and his son-in-law Tim. He loved hunting season. Oh, the stories they could tell of solving all the world's woes, shooting guns, then having a few beers. Greg was so proud of his daughters. He appreciated the assistance, day in and day out, from Jaime and he loved Andrea's success as a nurse, unless she was in the ER with him giving providers an accurate patient history. He was so proud of his granddaughters: Allison's service to her country and pursuing her career in healthcare and Lauren's straight A's in school.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Setnik, mother-in-law Shirley Bennett, and his beloved cat Sonny. He did not want a funeral, but there will be a celebration of life at a later time. He was loved by so many and will be missed as he took a part of all of us with him-and for a moment even the angels went silent.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maria Devilla and the Bellin Cancer Team, Katie Hampton, APNP and Bellin's Cardiology Associates, the wonderful nurses & providers at Bellin Hospital, and the CVICU team at St. Vincent Hospital for the loving, compassionate care you gave Greg during his times of illness and his final moments. While taking care of the patient, you never forgot to support his family. We will always remember your kindness.
