Harry P. Rich, 89, passed away on March 30, 2023 with family by his side. He was born on February 10, 1934, to the late Robert Sr. and Emily Rich in Maine. Harry served in the United States Navy for 30 years, being active for 4 years. After losing his first wife, Alice, to cancer, Harry met Darlene in the fall of 1979 at a meeting for Parents without Partners. Harry and Darlene married in 1981 and have been together for 42 years. They lived in Georgia for 27 years before eventually moving back to Wisconsin to be closer to family.

After retiring from the Navy, Harry worked as a Power Plant County Worker for Milwaukee County for about 30 years until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with all sorts of projects, and mall walking, especially when he lived in Georgia. He was a talkative person; always having stories to tell and could have conversations with just about anybody.

Harry is survived by his wife, Darlene Rich; daughter, Donna Rich; son, Darren (Diane) Rich; stepsons, Dan (Deb) Heder, Jim (Renee) Heder, and Chris Heder (Fiance Angela Shinners); grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Corey, Curtis, Cody, Marie, Lisa, Amy, Brianne, Malachi, Garrett, and Seth, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alice; brother, Robert (Bud) Jr.; sister, Jean Partridge; and sons, David and Dennis Rich.

A memorial gathering will be held at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Howard-Suamico (1145 Cardinal Lane) on Tuesday, April 11 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Military honors will immediately follow. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, at 11:00 AM at St. Matthias Church Cemetery (9306 W. Beloit Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53227).
