James Peter Bugni, 80, passed away on Saturday March 4 ^th , 2023 at his home in Howard.

He was born May 23, 1942 to James and Marianne (Celli) Bugni in Ironwood, Michigan, spending most of his youth in Hurley, Wisconsin. He graduated from Hurley High School in 1960.

He graduated from Wisconsin State College, Superior, with a Bachelor's degree and later on earned a Master's degree from Superior.

He taught 5 ^th and 6 ^th grades for more than 30 years in Green Bay, Wisconsin, first at Beaumont School and then at Jackson School.

James was married to Eileen (Longrie) Bugni for 41 years.

He is survived by his wife Eileen and his son James Matthew Bugni.

He was an avid sports fan all his life and enjoyed watching the Packers, the Brewers, and the Bucks. He also liked to attend live concerts over the years – including Elton John, Billy Joel, and Oak Ridge Boys.

Jim was also devoted to helping young people outside the classroom. He coached Lions Little League Baseball for ten years. He was also involved with Big Brothers program.

It was one his favorites pastimes to take his son Jim up north to his hunting camp where they enjoyed going through the woods together.

A memorial visitation will take place on Monday, March 20 ^th at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Howard-Suamico, 1145 Cardinal Lane, from 11 AM – 12 PM. A short prayer service will immediately follow at 12 PM. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com.
