Obituary

James (Jim) Robert Greisinger, 82, of Green Bay WI passed away on December 25, 2022. He joined Jeanne, his beloved wife of 63 years, in heaven, to celebrate a special Christmas together.

In 1940, Jim was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, son of E. J. (Emanuel) and Margaret Greisinger. Jim met Jeanne, the love of his life, in homeroom at high school in 1955. They married in 1959. While Jim was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota, Bob, their first child, was born in 1960, followed by a daughter, Gina, in 1961. They relocated to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where they welcomed their daughter Gail in 1962 and son Tony, in 1964. Jim was also blessed with grandsons Taylor and Connor and a granddaughter Molly. His grandchildren admired him for his astute advice and guidance. Jim was a loving and amazing father and grandfather, always considering their concerns and needs. His family loved him so much and he will be deeply missed by his family and many close and longtime friends.

He started his career in 1959, as a part-time IBM operator in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at a local food company. Some called it the pickle plant on School Place. With the change in technology, he soon became a computer programmer and system analyst. This lead him to design systems, and he wrote the computer programs and installed several computers and systems. He rose to a corporate VP and president of Green Bay Food Company, a very successful private-label food company. He was recognized as an outstanding contributor to the food industry. His company was purchased by an investment group, Tree House Foods. In June 2005, Jim was given the honor to ring the bell on Wall Street when the company went public. Jim officially retired in 2004 with many great lifelong friends.

He was instrumental in the organization of little league teams and coaching. He was President of the Parents Music Association. Jim served on the St. John's Picnic Committee, and as a member and supporter of the Howard Optimist Club and Heritage Hill Foundation. Jim and Jeanne especially enjoyed attending the wonderful shows at the Weidner Center and were original chair donors. Jim served on the board of directors of several companies and was a member of Oneida Country Club. He had a passion for Toys for Tots and the Giving Tree. He worked tirelessly to support them and encouraged others to do so.

He gave freely to others because he could and it was in his DNA. He learned from his parents, growing up on a farm in a large family, to help your neighbor and give what you can. He was a 4H member learning about the importance of helping hands. Jim earned many ribbons at the county fair and was a member of the Triple R riding association – riding, racing and showing horses. His life was filled with learning experiences starting with daily chores on the farm as a young boy. He loved the farm life. He appreciated lessons learned from those early days and these lessons helped him grow and have a better life.

The people he met along the way taught him to be a man of value and integrity. He treated others with kindness and respect. He has been fortunate in his life to have many great people to work with and work for. They and his family inspired him.

Survived by his sons Bob (Gina), Tony, daughters Gail (Todd) Peters, Gina. Grandchildren, Taylor (Maegan), Connor, Molly (Shane) Dillon.

Preceded in death by his wife Jeanne (August 23, 2022), his parents Emanuel and Margaret Greisinger, his sister Shirley Calhoun, and great-grandchild Caden.

A close, private family service will be held.
