James L. Holst passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born on April 22nd, 1941. Jim served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965.   He then married Lois Behling in 1967 in Union Grove, Wisconsin. There they started a family and eventually moved to Abrams, Wisconsin in 1980.

Jim grew up on a family farm in Union Grove.  This gave him a hard work ethic that carried though in his work as a welder for American Motors.  He then became a Sheet Metal worker until he retired in 2003. Jim was a proud member of the union for over 50 years. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did.

Jim was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a passion for NASCAR and loved watching the races whenever possible. Jim was also an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed building his hotrod in his spare time, as well as attending various swap meets and car shows. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, passing on his love of the outdoors to his two sons.  Another favorite pass time of Jim's was sampling different kinds of craft beers and sharing his favorites with friends and family. At last, Jim was known as a collector of many things, both old and new.

He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Heath (Jane) Holst of De Pere and Clint (Deanna) Holst of Oxford; brother William (Barbara) Holst of Burlington; grandchildren, Quade (fiancé Shyann) Jones and Brittany (Chris) Christenson.  He is further survived by many wonderful great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Viola Holst, wife Lois (Behling) and nine siblings:  Peter, Bernice, Raymond, Kenneth, Albert Jr., Harold, Donald, John and Edwin.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
