Obituary

Jean Mary Kaczmarek, 87, of Suamico, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2022, surrounded by family. "Jeanie" was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She attended St. Francis grade school in De Pere and was a graduate of East De Pere High School, class of 1953. She was very loyal to the latter, including choosing red (for the Redbirds) as her favorite color. She cherished monthly meetups with her high school classmates.

After high school, Jean attended technical school, and was employed as an administrative assistant at Northern Paper Mills. Later in life, she worked at the Pulaski C-Store and enjoyed "Pig Out" days with Doris, Jean, Yvonne, and her other co-workers.

Jean was involved with 4-H for most of her life, winning the Key Award in her youth and volunteering to be an adult leader, including head leader of the Anston/Country Squires 4-H Club. She was also a member of the Ss. Edward and Isidore Altar Rosary Society, Harvest Fest Kitchen Crew, and a funeral luncheon volunteer.

Jean's farming background and good looks caught the eye of Joseph Kaczmarek, and they married on October 25, 1958. Over the course of their 64 years of marriage, they established and maintained a productive dairy farm and welcomed 9 children and 13 grandchildren to the family. Her talents were vast and included cooking for an army, gardening to feed the masses, cake decorating, canning (her children would fight over the jams she made), sewing, baton twirling, managing to get everyone else wet except herself with the water hose, getting her children to "learn to like" their vegetables, mastering taking multiple halves of desserts without gaining an ounce, remaining an avid Packer fan even during the lean years, and living so unselfishly that she was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Joseph, sister Joyce Drewiecki, children Stan Kaczmarek (Kathy), John Kaczmarek, Rose Ann Turner (Jim), Paul Kaczmarek (Vicky), Doug Kaczmarek, Lisa Milkowski (Andy), Helen Sable (Jeffrey), Amy Kaczmarek, and grandchildren Megan, Sara, Matthew, Guner, Lindsi, Hut, Justin, Jason, Maria, Angela, Zosia, Peter, and Karl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Rose Drewiecki and daughter, Karen Kaczmarek Kontny. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Home Instead (particularly Kathy, Lisa, and Sam) who made Jeanie's later years more comfortable, as well as the health care staff at St. Mary's Hospital and GranCare Nursing Center.

Visitation will take place at Ss. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church on Friday, December 2nd from 3-6 pm followed by a service and rosary. Visitation will continue at the church on December 3rd from 9-10:30 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30, followed by burial in the church cemetery (weather permitting). The mass will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/ssedwardisidore.org
