Jeanette M.
Coleman
Dec 24, 1940 — Aug 24, 2021
Jeanette Marie Coleman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2021 at the age of 80.
Jeanette was born on December 24, 1940 to the late Bernard Frank and Martha Deiss. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1958 and went on to work for the telephone company in Great Falls, MT. It was during this time she met Bob Coleman at a regional ski resort. The two were married on January 12, 1962 and then lived in several locations throughout the country including Salt Lake City, Boston, Chicago and Green Bay, WI. Having moved to Green Bay the day before the infamous ice bowl, Jeanette, Bob and daughter Bobbi Ann settled down near Lambeau Field and remained in this area later moving to Suamico in the mid 80's on a beautiful lot near a conservancy. She continued to work for Wisconsin Bell/Ameritech, retiring after 37 years of service. As an active member of the AT&T Pioneers, Wisconsin chapter, she kept in contact with many colleagues following retirement and additionally worked with Beemster Electric.
Jeanette was a beautiful, happy, energetic and absolutely amazing lady! She brought a smile to everyone she met and kept her spirits high despite suffering many ailments over the years. In addition to always being available for her family, she had a loving passion for wildlife, especially white tail deer, sand hill cranes and a wide variety of birds. We would often find her seeking the perfect picture to preserve the natural beauty around her. She also loved dogs, especially her beagle children, Zip, Misty and Buddy, along with grand dogs and great grand dogs she cared for over the years. Always ready to help, she spent time volunteering for local charitable organizations and was often known to win a contest or many on local radio stations. Along with spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, Jeanette had a love for the theater with her favorite being Phantom of the Opera. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Bob Coleman; daughter, Bobbi Ann Waelti (Richard); grandsons Jamie Olp (Tiffany Palet fiancé) and Alex Olp (Jessica); sisters Paulene (Vern) Collins, Juanita (Harvey) Soulek, Lorraine (Joe) Tracy and Linda (Jim) Raphael; great grandchildren Khloe, Kayden, Mason and Brielle; close cousin George Deiss (Julie) and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Martha Rank and son William Joseph Coleman.
A private funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on August 28 th at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home on Cardinal Lane in Green Bay. Reverend Steve Fewell will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, it was Jeanette's wish that any memorial contributions be made to: The Wisconsin Humane Society-Green Bay Campus https://www.wihumane.org/contact/green-bay-campus .
On behalf of her entire family, we want to extend a special thank you to the Emergency and ICU staff at St. Vincent's hospital for their loving care. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com .
