Obituary

Jerome P. Bushmaker, of Howard, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on January 21, 1942, in Oconto, WI, the son of the late Martin and Mathilda Bushmaker. Jerome grew up in the Lena area and graduated from Lena High School.

Following high school, Jerome proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. During the Vietnam era, he served as a flight mechanic aboard two aircraft carriers—the USS Midway and the USS Coral Sea. His service was a great source of pride throughout his life.

After his military service, Jerome worked as a mill operator at Diana Manufacturing, where he dedicated 38 years of hard work. In his free time, he enjoyed driving school bus, forming connections with students and families in the community.

Jerome was married to his beloved wife, Pamela, for 57 wonderful years. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. He found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with loved ones, fishing on quiet waters, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.

Jerome will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

He is survived by his wife Pamela, children, Tina (Mike) Borhegyi, Tammy (Kris) Schaut, Dean (Lisa) Bushmaker, grandchildren Noah (fiancée Laura) Bushmaker, Vanessa (significant other Trevor) Bushmaker, and Logan Schaut; brother Vincent Bushmaker, brother-in-laws Cy Brault and Gary Johnson; sister-in-laws JoAnne Bushmaker, Mary Bushmaker, Laurie (Larry) Pirlot and other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Mathilda; his brothers Martin Bushmaker Jr. and Norman Bushmaker, sisters Marie Brault, Louise Schlough, Irene Demmith, Delores Hassenfeldt, Loretta Dyer, Marion Demmith, and sister-in-law Carol Bushmaker.

A celebration of Jerome's life will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a service to follow. Services will be held at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services Howard-Suamico, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, WI 54313.
