Jerome "Jerry"
Severa
Feb 9, 1942 — Mar 9, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Severa announces his passing on March 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Jerry was born February 9th, 1942, at St. Vincent's hospital in Green Bay, WI during war time. His passion for truck driving started with working for KI, and his dedication evolved to becoming an Owner Operator, and ending his driving career with America's Service Line in 2022.
At the age of 17, with his mother's signature, Jerry was able to enlist in the Marine Corp serving his country with pride from 1960-64, with one of his best service memories being in Japan.
Jerry had a gift to gab and the talent to turn strangers into friends through his unique style of conversation that left you feeling you knew him for years.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends when he had time at home from traveling over the road as a truck driver. He enjoyed traveling all over the nation and he would share the stories of his truck driving adventures. After he decided to truck drive more locally, he enjoyed spending time in Crandon, WI crawfishing and off-road races. By the end of his truck driving career, he had traveled over 5 million miles and received the Truck Driver of the Month award with America's Service line.
Jerry will sadly be missed by his loving wife, Lori, of 32 yrs, and his much beloved granddaughter, Brittney. Surviving family members: adopted daughter, Sara; Brother, Ken (Brenda) Severa, and his sisters, Jan (Al) Ambrosius and Mary Jo (Randy) Albrecht, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a great-great Nephew. He is preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Severa, and brother, Jimmy Severa, his in-laws Vern and Millie Atkinson.
Family and friends can gather at Pfotenhauer Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, WI on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12-3pm. Family and friends can share memories and stories of Jerry at 2-3pm. No prayer service will be held. A full burial memorial service will be held later in Spring.
In lieu of flowers, per the wishes of the family, donations are welcomed and can be made through Pfotenhauer or the Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus.
A special thank you to Howard Rescue response team and the medical staff of St. Vincent's who treated Jerry with compassionate care and kindness.
Rest in peace, you will be missed...Jerry
