Obituary

Jerry Lee Olson, 80, passed away on October 30, 2024, with family by his side. He was born In Green Bay, WI on July 9, 1944, to the late Gustave and Cecelia Olson. Jerry graduated from Green Bay West High School and enlisted in the Air Force shortly after. He served with distinction during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star with Valor. While in the service, he began his college education and later graduated from Lakeland College. He also completed his studies at the Prochnow Graduate School of Banking in Madison. Jerry dedicated over 20 years to the banking industry before transitioning to a successful career as a broker, staying actively engaged in the stock market throughout his life. He was a proud Air Force veteran.

Jerry was known for his great sense of humor and his love for telling jokes. He cherished Christmas traditions and treasured time spent with his family. He enjoyed playing golf, solving crosswords, and savoring cigars. His fondness for the Pink Panther movies further highlighted his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children and grandchildren, Jay "Bird" Olson (Susan) and their children, Emersyn "EE" & Bennett "Bman", Joy "Buttons/Hoivin" Kautzer (Michael) and their children, Haley, Taylor, & Mitchell, Carri "Bumps" Prochnow (Eric) and their children, Miles, Olivia, & Camden, and Beth "Betsy Lou/Bets" Richter (Patrick) and their children, Nickolai "Mr. Nickster" & Grayson "Gman". He is also survived by his siblings, Karen Leanna, Roger Olson (Fay), Rodney Olson (Debbie), and Carl "Roundhead" Olson.

Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved grandchildren, Garrod Olson, Cassandra and Matthew Kautzer; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jack LaHaye; and his brother-in-law, Dale Leanna.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice, with special thanks to Ashley, and to VA Home Based Primary Care for their exceptional care and support of Jerry throughout his long battle with Parkinson's disease.
