Obituary

Jill Andrea Wiesman, age 57, of Howard passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021.

She was born April 3, 1964 to Roger and Sonja (Matz) Bauer. Jill attended Altoona public schools and excelled in music and the arts. She went on to UW-Green Bay graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Meteorology. While attending UW-GB she met Perry Wiesman, the love of her life. They were married June 29, 1985 and enjoyed many years together raising their beautiful children. Jill learned her love for the outdoors and camping as a child and continued that tradition throughout her life with family camping excursions at Trout Lake, always enjoying the trails, the loons, the sunsets, and a good campfire, especially when that campfire included s'mores with lots of chocolate!  Jill was an accomplished musician who played guitar and sang in her younger years. She used these skills and her love of Christ when she spent a summer traveling to different churches in Wisconsin as part of a Camp Luther Christian ministry team. Jill was also an avid seamstress and shared that passion with her daughter. Her incredible wit and golden heart will be missed by all. Jill had a true warrior spirit and used it during her five-year battle with breast cancer, and her unfailing faith in Jesus Christ was evident in every part of her life.

During her professional career, Jill worked as a Meteorologist on WSAW Channel 7 in Wausau and WBAY Channel 2 in Green Bay before working for the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District and St. Norbert College in public communication/mentoring positions. She was a perfectionist at heart and wouldn't stop until her work met her ultimate standards. She most recently worked at Apex Heating and Air Conditioning in Green Bay and enjoyed her interactions with the public.

Jill is survived by her husband Perry, son Jared Wiesman, daughter Calandra "Callie" Wiesman all of Green Bay, father Roger Bauer and brother Kent Bauer both of Altoona, sister Heidi Ender of Eau Claire, mother-in-law Dorothy Wiesman, brothers-in-law Mark (Deb) Woller and John Wiesman, sisters-in-law Lorrie Leaf and Tracy (Tony) Pupp all of Wausau, brothers-in-law Steve (Debbie) Wiesman of Sobieski, and Lee Wiesman of Green Bay, along with many extended family members around the country and her furry friend Reggie.

She was preceded in death by mother Sonja Bauer and father-in-law Bert Wiesman.
