Obituary

Joan M. Niquette, 92, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. Joan was born in 1933, to Ernest and Aurelia (Puetz) Daun. She grew up in New Holstein, Wisconsin, where she developed the strong values and faith that guided her throughout her life. In 1954, she married Paul J. Niquette, beginning a loving partnership and a life devoted to family.

After retiring from UWGB, Joan kept very busy. She was an avid reader and found joy in gardening. She generously gave of her time volunteering with Unity Hospice, helping out with office work where they needed her. While her deep faith was a cornerstone of her life, nothing was more important to Joan than her family, whom she cherished deeply.

She is survived by her loving children, Lorie (Vaughn) Francar and Perry (Connie) Niquette; her grandchildren, Kellyn (Nick) Bellisle, Jordan (Sheila) Niquette, Brenna (Brian) Hoppe, Braedyn (Kellen) Fravel, and Connor (Cass) Kmiec; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Emersyn Bellisle, Easton and Hudson Niquette, Harper and Haisley Fravel and Isla Hoppe.

Joan is also survived by her sister, Mitzi Joseph, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Courtney and Joanne Ter Horst, Kaye Daun and Fred Drake, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; her parents, Ernest and Aurelia Daun; her parents-in-law, Gilbert and Laura (Ausloos) Niquette; brother James Daun; and in- laws Cyril and Cyrilla Niquette; Lois Drake; and Eileen Niquette.

Joan will be remembered for her sharp mind, even to the end, her quiet strength, her kind heart, her steadfast faith, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.

A celebration of life for Joan will be held at a later date in the spring or summer of 2026.

Joan's family extends their gratitude to the compassionate staff at Bellin Hospital for their gentle care of their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother during her final hours. And also, thank you to Fr. Paul Paider of St. Joseph Church - Oneida for administering the Anointing of the Sick sacrament to Mom.
