Joann
Blohowiak
Jan 30, 1937 — Jun 3, 2022
JoAnn Blohowiak, 85, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Suamico on January 30, 1937, to the late Albert and Elizabeth Wilkey. On April 26, 1958, JoAnn was united in marriage to Robert Blohowiak at St. Benedict in Suamico.
Throughout her life, JoAnn was actively involved in her church parishes, including St. Jude's, Resurrection, and eventually Ss. Edward & Isidore when she moved back to Suamico. After her retirement from Electronic Data Systems in 1997, she volunteered and managed St. Vincent Hospital's gift shop and was a proud member of the St. Vincent's Women's Auxiliary. JoAnn was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed traveling, gardening, cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, crafts, quilting, and playing bridge with her friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. JoAnn was known to volunteer, if there was something going on, she had a hand in it and loved to bring her sons with her to volunteer as well.
JoAnn is survived by her four sons, Bart (Debra), Brad, Bruce (Theresa), and Brian (Carol); grandchildren, Adam (Kim), Cassandra (Andre) Francisco, Jordan, Gregory (fiancé Morgan), Rachel, Brittany, Nathan, and Dayna; great-granddaughter, Harriet Francisco; brother, Richard Wilkey; brother-in-law, Ronald Blohowiak; sister-in-law, Janice Wilkey and many more nieces, nephews, family, and friends, especially her "Turtles."
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Albert and Elizabeth Wilkey; parents-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Blohowiak; sister, Carrol Rae Wilkey; brother, Glenn Wilkey; brother-in-law, Michael Blohowiak; and sisters-in-law, Susan Wilkey, Gail Wilkey, Judy Wilkey, and Kay Blohowiak.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, at Ss. Edward and Isidore Parish, 3667 Flintville Road, Suamico, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial, led by Fr. David Hoffman, will follow at 11:00 AM. The mass will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/ssedwardisidore.org. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com .
The Blohowiak family extends their deepest gratitude to Judy Garrity and Jackie Woosmann from Home Instead, the staff of Alpha Senior Concepts, and the staff of Compassus Hospice for their care of JoAnn during her illness.
