Joanne
Berry
Dec 3, 1934 — Aug 11, 2024
Joanne Berry, 89, of Green Bay, entered eternal life on August 11, 2024, at Unity Hospice in Green Bay.
Joanne was born on December 3, 1934 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Martha and Victor Durand and grew up in Big Bend, Wisconsin.
After graduating from high school in Big Bend, she married Kenneth McKenna and they were blessed with six children. After Ken's passing in 1975, she later married Chuck Berry in July 1984. They were happily married until Chuck's passing in March 2023. In Joanne's own words, she was "lucky to have known two wonderful men in her life."
Joanne lived in various parts of the country, moving to Omaha, Nebraska with Ken for a period of time and also to Seattle for a few years when she was married to Chuck. Joanne and Chuck enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Scotland and spending a few warm winters in Florida.
Being a gifted quilter, receiving one of her creations was a treasure. She passed on her love of quilting to her daughter, Susan.
Joanne was quiet, kind and loving. She was a woman of great faith and practiced that faith in her daily life and as a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard.
Joanne will be greatly missed by her children, Mary (Jim) Stallard, Kevin McKenna, Dan (Theresa) McKenna, Patty McKenna, Anne Tielens; brother, Tom (Marty) Durand; grandchildren, Naeda Peace, Leah (Fernando) Pacheco, Joon Tajadod, Emily Tielens, Spencer Tielens, Mackenzie Tielens, Sarah (Petter) Sagen, Rachael Ullman and great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Aaliyah, Ethan, Bryson, and Dylan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Durand; husband, Chuck Berry; daughter, Susan McKenna and son-in-law, Randy Tielens.
A special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00-11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., in Howard, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in Joanne's honor, to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
