Joanne (Joannie) Mathes passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Joannie was the daughter of George W. and Grace W. Moore, born on February 19, 1936.

During her life time Joannie was very active in volunteer organizations. She was a member of Service League of Green Bay; Green Bay DePere Antiquarians Society; served on committees at Heritage Hill State Park and delivered Meals on Wheels, to name a few. Along with her husband Richard she became very involved with Shriner's. Joannie was a member of Shriner's Women's Auxiliary, serving as president at one point and helped raise funds for Shriner's Hospitals for Children of the Twin Cities. Joannie and Richard were also very involved in their church, Union Congregational. They both served on multiple committees and Joannie also served as a Stephen Minister, visiting those who were home bound sharing the word of God and comforting them.

She is survived by her children, Kathlyn (James) Balza, their sons Christopher and Gregory (Jen) Balza and her son, Jeffrey (Jodi) Meyer and their children Jessica and Jason.

Joannie was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Meyer and a grandson, Justin Meyer.

A memorial fund has been established for Shriner's Hospitals for Children of the Twin Cities. A private family memorial service will be held, internment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Birch Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care Unit for all their help and loving care given to Joannie. Also, thank you to Unity Hospice for their care and assistance in Joannie's final days. Finally, thank you to Chaplain Larry for his concern and comforting spiritual guidance.
