Joette Margrett (Atkinson) Mathey, 59, Crivitz, passed away on Dec. 12, 2017 with her loved ones by her side after a 25 year long fight with her cancer. She was born on Sept. 21, 1958 to the late Fernnen (Vern) and Mildred (Millie Michaels) Atkinson. Joette graduated from Bay Port High School in June 1978. She married Jack Mathey in 2006.

She had a big heart and loved all that knew her. Joette had many talents, sewing was her latest. Everyone she loved has something she had sewn. Joette had many interesting jobs throughout her life, from shrimping in the gulf to working at the Piggly Wiggly, one of her favorite jobs to work because she loved the people. She loved her pets (JR and Chunk) who were her babies. Joette loved having all kinds of pets from chickens to peacocks to raccoons.

Survivors include the love of her life, husband Jack; stepson, Josh (Erin) Mathey; step daughter, Jeni (Adam) Olson; step grandkids, Riley, Lauren, Noah and Zoey; siblings, LuAnn Brunette, Kenny Atkinson, Lorraine (Jerry) Severa; nieces and nephews, Jesse, Chad, Jason, Carrie and Sara; many great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Roberta Alsteen, Mario Green; close friend, Sandy and Dale.

Joette was preceded in death by her parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 1 until 4:00 p.m. at the home of her sister, 4017 Bayside Road, Suamico, WI. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
