Obituary

John T. Kornowski, 77, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was born Dec. 21, 1939 in Green Bay to the late Thomas B. and Agnes (Suski) Kornowski. After graduating from East High School, John entered the US Navy. Following four years of service and being honorably discharged, John began employment at Proctor & Gamble in Green Bay. He retired in 1996 following 33 years as a millwright. John married Carolen A. Schampers on Oct. 2, 1964 at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard. Carolen preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2003.

John was a very generous and caring person to family as well as many friends. He enjoyed music, an occasional trip to the casino for live entertainment, restoring antique cars, NASCAR racing and especially tinkering with recycling. His daily ritual consisted of morning coffee with long standing friends.

Survivors include his two sons, Tim and Andy Kornowski, both of Green Bay; brother, Donald (Veronica) Kornowski, Wilmington, NC; sisters-in-law, Madeline (Dennis) O'Connor, Green Bay; Mary M. Kornowski, Wausau. Further survived by many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces who loved him dearly and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Carolen; his parents; sister, Irene Ulrich; brother, James (Jim) Kornowski.
