Obituary

John Joseph Lambert, 78, peacefully passed on September 3, 2024, at home with his beloved family by his side. He was born on February 3, 1946, to the late Ralph and Florence (Basler) Lambert. John lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering positivity.

He graduated from Rhinelander High School and proudly served in the Army immediately after. Thereafter, he devoted much of his life working in the woods logging and later as a roadway maintenance worker for Oneida County, from which he retired. His work ethic and commitment were a testament to his character.

John was a loving husband to Nora (Johnston) with whom he shared 33 wonderful years with (23 years of marriage).  His love for Nora and his entire family was evident in everything he did.  He was a cherished father, brother, and friend, known for his radiant smile and the warmth he brought into every room.

An avid outdoorsman, John found joy in gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. However, his greatest pleasure came from spending time with those he loved. John's legacy is one of hope, joy, and a positive spirit that touched everyone he met. He will be remembered not only for his generous heart but also for the light he brought into the lives of those around him.  His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever inspire and uplift those who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Nora Lambert; his children and their families: Joseph (Cindy) Lambert, their daughter Sarah (Tad) Schmidt, and their children Leonardo & Addison; Kristen (Gary) Anderson and their son Conner Boehm; Angie (Kevin) Smith and their children Tyler, Ashley, Cortney & Macey; Josh (Christina) Lambert, their children Archer and twins Colette & Evelyn; Toni (Shannon) Nienast, sons Omar & Aidan Chacon; Joy Berry, sons Zander & Logan; Douglas (Becky) Teal and son Dameon. He is further survived by siblings, Helen Johnson and Mary (Dave) Weyers.

John is preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Thomas Lambert; brother, Ralph "Jim" Lambert; and sister, Marion Belongia.

Friends and family are invited to share in a Celebration of Life at Newbold Community Center in Rhinelander on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
