John R. Wozniak Jr., 68, of Shawano, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, August 21, 2017 after a long battle with kidney disease and heart failure. He was born on Jan. 14, 1949 in Elkhorn, WI to the late John R. and Hazel F. (Johnson) Wozniak Sr. After graduation from high school, he obtained a diploma of certification in small engine service and repair. He married Alexandria Malecki in June of 1972. John raised his family in Milwaukee and found his calling as a courier. He worked as a courier delivering luggage from the airport for 10 years and also delivered medication and supplies to hospitals, nursing homes, elders and the disabled all over the state and beyond. He became known as the medicine man courier. John moved to the Shawano area. He then worked with the Menominee Tribal Transit Division for 6 years retiring due to illness.

Survivors include his children, Nicholas J. (Amary Pierce) Wozniak; Patrick (Marie) Tycz; Jackie (David) Kastel; grandchildren, Dominic, Makaylah, Cody, Dillon, Jacob, Jamie, Jennifer; further survived by Karen (Jim) Proesel and their son Brandon; great grandchildren, Jayden, Jase, Callum, Nolan, Audrey, one on the way; three sisters, Becky Behnke; Barbara (Mark) Casper; Brenda Wozniak; his dog and best buddie, Zeus. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one sister and many dear family members and friends.
