Joseph C.
Wucherer
Apr 18, 1949 — May 27, 2025
Joseph Christian Wucherer, 76, of Suamico, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2025.
As a proud alum of Marquette High School and Marquette University, Joe dedicated much of his professional life to a long and distinguished career with the Internal Revenue Service. He also served as a Staff Sergeant in the 135th Medical Company of the Army National Guard.
Outside of his public service, he was best known for his deep love of animals—particularly as a passionate and accomplished breeder and exhibitor of Newfoundland dogs alongside his beloved wife JoAnn. They were both extensively involved in the Newfoundland Club of San Diego and their devotion to the breed and to all animals was a defining part of their lives in California and Wisconsin. Joe was also a lifelong lover of football, especially the Green Bay Packers. JoAnn also caught the Packers bug and they both owned shares of their favorite team. Joe also loved old cars and spent countless hours working on and talking about them with his lifelong friend Bob Ward.
Joe is survived by his children: Steve (Stacy), Dave (Stefanie), Jackie, and J.R. (Hillary), by his grandchildren: Ella, Ben, and Jack, and by his siblings: Sally, Beth (Mike), and Jim. He felt very lucky to have spent an enjoyable month with his siblings all together in Florida this past winter. Joe will also be remembered lovingly by his in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He leaves behind his cherished dogs Packer, Dakota, and Coco who brought him companionship and great joy.
Joe was preceded in death by his best friend and wife JoAnn Carr Wucherer and by his parents Joseph and Marie Wucherer.
A private memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Joe's lifelong devotion to animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Bay campus of the Wisconsin Humane Society.
