Judith Ellen Niskanen Franklin passed away on February 13, 2024. Judy was born at St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital in Menominee, MI, on May 11, 1951. She attended Grant Elementary School and graduated from Menominee High School in 1969. Judy moved to Milwaukee, WI, after graduation.
Judy married John D. Franklin on October 2, 1971 at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Her husband's job took them to live in many states, until settling in Las Vegas Nevada in 1976. They had one daughter, Jericho, a couple years later. Judy's sister, Viola, moved down to live with her and her daughter after Judy and her husbands divorce. Judy decided to move closer to family, so her and her sister Viola moved to Peshtigo in 2022.
Judy is survived by her daughter Jericho, a granddaughter Arissa Rodriguez, grandson Nicholas Rodriguez, great granddaughter Meliea Harris, all from Las Vegas. She also had a stepson John A. Franklin of Linton, IN. Judy had eight awesome siblings. Edith and Jim Vetort, Cedar River, MI, Delores and Ron (deceased) Hujanen, Cook, MN, Viola and Don (deceased) Youngquist, Peshtigo, WI, Lydia and Russell II (deceased) Coble, Athelstane, WI, Norman and Elaine (deceased) Niskanen, Menominee, MI, Raymond and Joy Niskanen, Marinette, WI, William and Sherry, Peshtigo, WI, Ellen and Fred (divorced) Nowack, Middle Inlet, WI. Included in the survivors are many, many, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death are her parents Helen and Wilho Niskanen, Menominee, MI, brother-in-laws Don Youngquist, Russell Coble II, Ron Hujanen, John D. Franklin, and sister-in-law Elaine Niskanen.
Pfotenhauer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services is assisting the family. There are no funeral services scheduled at this time. A family gathering/memorial will take place at a later date.
Donations can be made to local charities, such as homeless shelters, women's/children's organizations, animal shelters, or any other local charities of your choice.
