Obituary

Kathryn A. Vann, 76, Green Bay, passed away on October 6, 2018 at Unity Hospice Residence, ending her three year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Kewaunee on June 2, 1942 to Marie (Suchoski) Van Dam and the late Leo A. Van Dam. Kay was a graduate of Preble High School and a college graduate of St. Norbert College in 1964.

She moved to Arizona in 1964 to pursue a teaching career. Kay married Lafel S. Vann in March 1965 in Greasewood, AZ. Kay returned to Green Bay after her husband's death in 2009 to care for her mother. June was a particularly favorite time of the year for her because she looked forward to her family from Arizona coming to visit.

Kay was an educator for 45 years and enjoyed keeping in contact with her former students. She also was an avid reader with mysteries being her favorite. She loved crocheting, crafts, tatting class, swimming at the CP Center, spending time with friends, family and socializing.

Survivors include her two daughters, Elaina Vann-Curley (John Curley) and Leah James; four grandchildren, Rory, Robin, and Ryan James and Alyssa Burruel all of Arizona; one great grandchild, Alexandra Velazquez; mother, Marie Van Dam; brother, Paul Van Dam, Town of Eaton.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Lafel S. Vann; father, Leo A. Van Dam; sister-in-law, Lori Van Dam; nephew, Paul Van Dam Jr.
