Kurt J. Peterson, 72, born May 29, 1954, in Wetzlar, Germany, passed away at home in Green Bay, Wisconsin, November 4, 2026, following a four-year battle with cancer.

Kurt was adopted by Ralph and Erin Peterson, who remained in Germany with him until 1956.

His childhood was filled with travel and new experiences as his family moved frequently due to his father’s military career, taking Kurt and his two sisters to many places and allowing them to experience life in different parts of the world. After years of traveling and moving with his family, Kurt eventually settled in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Kurt served in the United States Army. He later spent many years working as a truck driver, traveling throughout the country.

He shared a long and meaningful relationship with his significant other, Heidi Hoegger. Together, they enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, and spending time up north with friends and family. Kurt also took great pride in caring for their yard and landscaping, something he especially enjoyed. Whether spending time on the water or making their outdoor space beautiful, these were some of the simple pleasures they shared.

Kurt embraced being a grandparent and enjoyed spending time with them and being part of their lives.

Kurt was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he encountered. He was someone others could count on, and his generosity and willingness to help those around him were an important part of who he was.

Kurt will be remembered by those whose lives he touched and the memories they shared with him.
