Laura Ann
Johnson
Mar 14, 1986 — Oct 2, 2025
She came to us in the spring and left us in the fall.
Laura Ann Johnson, born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 14th, 1986, was the daughter of Bonnie Menacher and Joel Johnson. After being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease, she went to heaven on October 2nd, 2025. Laura's strong will showed at an early age and continued until she took her last breath.
Our precious daughter was a dedicated athlete, an avid bowler, a high school swim team member and a Special Olympian. She graduated from Marinette High School in June of 2006. Anyone who visited McDonald's or Culver's and Avenue Grille & Bar in Marinette likely got to know her. Laura was a conscientious worker and loved the opportunity to visit with customers on her shifts.
When she wasn't with family or working, she most enjoyed spending time outside and going to Camp Daniel in the summers.
During the last few years, Laura attended day services at Aspiro where she was able to bowl, fish, play volleyball, and manage the basketball team. One of her proudest accomplishments there was training and participating in the Triumph Mile with Nikki Soukup. Her favorite activity was Friday karaoke - you can bet her song of choice was usually something "Country" maybe Reba, Dolly or Blake Shelton.
Laura loved fiercely. Her family and friends will most remember the hugs she gave so freely and with such passion. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
Laura was a loving daughter, granddaughter, and sister. She was especially fond of her nieces and so very proud to be an aunt. She also had a knack for remembering birthdays. That is something that won't be the same without her.
Laura is survived by her parents Bonnie Menacher and special friend Gordon Frazier and Joel and Maureen Johnson; siblings Melissa (Adam) Farr, Abbey (Joe) Degeneffe, Christopher (Kenzie) Menacher, Carly (Andrew) Suel; nieces Olivia and Vivian Farr, Sophia and Baby Degeneffe; grandmothers Wanda Beattie and Roberta Olson.
Laura is preceded in death by grandfathers Dennis Johnson and Gerald Beattie, and grandparents Phillip and Mary Ann Klumb.
A memorial gathering will take place at St. John the Baptist Parish, 2597 Glendale Ave, (entrance directly across from BP gas station) on Thursday, October 16th, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM. A memorial Mass will follow.
A heartfelt thank you to her caregiver and special friend Jennifer Goltz for her care and support the last few years; the entire dedicated staff at Aspiro, specifically Shannon, Nikki, Rob and Hanna; to Dr. Napier and his staff for their support with her illness; Aurora hospice nurses Ricki, Angie, Jessica, Kelly, and Luann, and the nurses at Aurora Hospital, Olivia, Alyssa, and Rachel, who took special care of her in her final days. Their unconditional support helped Laura and our family through the most difficult of times.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Laura's memory to Aspiro in Green Bay.
