Linda S.
Joski
Jul 10, 1961 — Mar 15, 2024
Linda S. Joski, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born on July 10, 1961, in Milwaukee, WI, to Alvin and Joanne (Kollross) Peronto. She graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1979. She built her nearly 40-year career at Wisconsin Public Service and raised her family in Green Bay.
Linda loved spending time outside, thanks to the years she spent playing and exploring in the woods where she grew up with her brothers, sister and numerous family pets. She was a passionate gardener, decorator and reader. She loved nothing more than to be immersed in outdoor activities such as kayaking, biking and aimless walks, often adventuring with her husband or on her own. Her happy place was at the beach and near the ocean. Sitting on the sand with her feet in the water was one of her simple pleasures. She never let go of her child-like curiosities, which is why she was always fond of collecting shells and gazing at the stars. She was endlessly creative and surrounded herself with beautiful things; home décor, portraits and flowers from her garden. She was a wellspring of wisdom and a life-long learner and reader, always looking for ways to self-improve. She loved to cook delicious food for her family and experiment with new recipes.
Linda had an enormous heart and the warmest smile. She always took the time to check in and meaningfully connect with the people she loved. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met and always had a full social calendar. She radiated joy and positivity and encouraged those around her to see the bright side. She was a nurturer of people and animals and made everyone feel seen and loved. The love that emanated from her soul has affected countless lives.
Her family and her faith in God were her priorities, and she was a fiercely devoted wife, mother, grandmother and protector. She spent many hours talking to, caring for and spending time with her children, grandchildren and fur-grandchildren. She lived her life authentically and with grace.
Linda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, Jeffrey Joski, daughter Stephanie (Cody) Nowak, sons Benjamin Joski and Joshua Joski, grandchildren Jaxson, Harper and Cole Nowak, mother Joanne (Kollross) Peronto, brothers Bill (Lynn) Peronto, Jim (Kay) Peronto, Bob (Brenda) Peronto and sister Sara Peronto (Matt Cisz), brother-in-law Garth Davies, mother and father-in-law Ethel and Richard Gross, sisters-in-law Cindy Joski, Christine (Christopher) Shaw and brothers-in-law Joe (Debbie) Joski and Michael DeWitt.
She is preceded in death by her father Alvin Peronto, sister Wendy Davies, niece Karissa Peronto, father-in-law Kenneth Joski, brother and sister-in-law Jim and Judy Joski and sister-in-law Susan DeWitt.
Linda was incredibly grateful for all of the love and support shown to her, Jeff and their family by treasured loved ones, friends and neighbors in the form of prayer, letters, cards, visits, time spent together, phone calls, texts and touching gifts throughout her journey with cancer until the very end. A special thanks to Linda's good friends Katie Heim, Jan Jauquet, Lori Nies, Sheryl Meyer, Annette Hoslet and her "battle buddy" Kelly Frank. The continued check-ins and visits always boosted her spirit and kept her feeling loved, cared for and special.
A special thanks to Unity Hospice (nurses Jolene and Anna) for the compassionate and loving care. And to the doctors and nurses at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Green Bay, WI and Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL.
A celebration of her life will be held at Celebration Church (3475 Humboldt Rd) in Green Bay on Saturday, March 23, with visitation from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm and a service to follow.
