Obituary

Lloyd J. Frehse, age 78, of Suamico, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 2, 2016. They say that it's not the years in your life, but the life in your years. Lloyd certainly did a lot in his 78 years.

He was born September 22, 1938 to the late Fred W. and Verna E. (Stange) Frehse.

His garage (the shed) was his second home where he spent his time rebuilding and fixing motorcycles and cars as a passion. He was considered a local expert. You could often find him sitting around a potbelly stove with friends and family. He enjoyed time with his family off-road and motocross racing, especially with his son, Wesley.

This all started at age 21, when he was crowned national champion of the Jackpine 500 at Wausau's Rib Mountain. That led to the many races at Sobieski with $2 a Sunday and hill climbs.

Lloyd's excellent mechanic abilities led his career starting with Motor Vehicle Operator & Truck driver in the Marines while he was stationed in Japan. He continued with a variety of engine repairs which developed into semi-truck driving with his son-in-law, Jeff. His son, Ric, would like to thank his Dad for all the years of service and advice with the business. He couldn't have done it without him.

He met his wife, Carol Baranczyk 56 years ago. Carol knew the first time she saw Lloyd he was the man she was going to marry. They enjoyed many trips to Branson, MO. They spent a lot of time visiting with friends on the back porch. To them, their best memories were of times spent at their home.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, his sons, Todd (Tracy) Frehse, Ric (Sande) Frehse, Wesley (Carrie) Frehse, his daughter, Crystal (Jeff) Kozloski, his brother, Kenny (Sharon) Frehse, his 18 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and a special family friend, Annie Brunette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry Frehse, daughter, Lisa Lane Frehse and a special family friend, Al Brunette.

A celebration of his life will be at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 4 – 7 pm. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm with Military Honors to follow.

A special thank you to Aurora Home Care Nurses, Margaret, Mary and Trish for all their help and compassion.

A memorial fund has been established in his name at the funeral home.
